Sultan "Alex" Sikender
March 29, 1936 - May 28, 2020
It is with deep sadness we announce that Sultan (Alex) Sikender died Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 84 years of age. He leaves to mourn, Patricia, his wife of 54 years, daughters Fauzia and Yasmine; his grandchildren (cheekie-pookies) Sofia and Conor Moore, and their father Bradley, sisters-in-law Maureen (Rocco Sacci) and Margaret (David O’Donnell), and their children. Sadly predeceased by his son Saleem, Alex also has extended family and friends in Toronto, England and Pakistan who will mourn his passing.
As a very young child, he left Afghanistan with his family and attended boarding school in Pakistan. He emigrated to London, England and lived there for 17 years during which time he met and married Pat. They returned to Montreal and Alex had a successful career as an insurance broker and financial consultant. He was a quiet-spoken man who loved his family dearly. He was an excellent chess player and credited his school teachers with instilling his love for the game.
Due to the public health measures issued with covid-19 pandemic, a private burial in the Muslim tradition has already taken place.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the SPCA Montérégie would be appreciated. Further information is available at : info@spcamonteregie.com or to a charity of your choice.
