<div itemprop="description">Susan Leonhardt, April 24, 1932 -- August 22, 2024. <br> <br>Susan Leonhardt passed away peacefully on August 22 surrounded by love. She will be dearly missed by family members George, David, Joel, Aaron, Lou, Mona, Chantal, Maureen, Eve-Marie, Chantalyne, Sophie, Emile, Lauralee, Olivier and Eva. <br> <br>Susan had an incredibly huge heart, selflessly thinking of others even as her own heart was failing her. She devoted her life to nursing, Catholicism and her family. And to chocolate, of course. <br> <br>After having to leave her birth country of Hungary, she worked hard as a nurse and sacrificed much to raise a family -- which was her world. She became deeply involved in church life and, shortly after retiring, moved to Ottawa to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Nothing would stop her from giving kisses and hugs! <br> <br>She will be greatly missed. <br> <br>With love and sadness, we will gather at Rideau Funeral Home on September 21 to celebrate the life and memory of a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and friend. A 12:30 pm visitation will be followed at 1:00 pm by a funeral service, thought-sharing and interment of Susan’s ashes beside her husband Bill’s.
