With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Yiayia Therese (Terri) on February 28, 2025, at the age of 94. A remarkable woman, she leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.
Terri was the steadfast wife of the late Chris for 72 years, a testament to their enduring love. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her: children Sylvia (Glenn), Helen (John deceased), John (deceased) (Stavroula) and James (deceased); grandchildren Karine, Trysa (Tom), Athyna (Eric), Chris (Annie); great-grandchildren Savanah, Zachary, Alexander, Winston, Katia, and Chloe; and her nieces and nephew.
Terri’s home was always a haven filled with love, warmth, and hospitality. Family was her world, and her unwavering dedication to them was the foundation of her life.
A natural caregiver, Terri volunteered at the local school cafeteria and eventually became a cherished staff member. She also volunteered many hours over many years at the West Island VON. Even in her later years, she tirelessly supported friends and family, offering rides or a kind word whenever needed and delivering meals on wheels.
She learned to be fluent in Greek to connect with her mother-in-law and passed her driving test at 50, proving it’s never too late for new challenges.
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sunrise of Dollard Des Ormeaux, especially Anthony and Melissa, for two years of incredible, loving care and the team at CHSLD Residence Le Vivalis for their kindness and care towards Terri in the last three months of her life.
Colleen was our mom's companion for three wonderful years. She cared for our mom with such kindness, love, and dedication, as if she were her own. We are incredibly grateful for the compassion she showed during that time
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 2-5 PM and 6-8 PM at the Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, DDO Qc H9B 2A6. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11 AM at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. 20 Brunswick Blvd, DDO Qc H9B 2L5.
Donations to Nova West Island can be made in lieu of flowers in her honour.
Rest in peace, Mom/Yiayia. Your love will light our lives forever.
