<div itemprop="description">Thomas Andrew Poirier, 65 years passed away peacefully at his home on July 15, 2026, after a battle with ALS. Tom was the beloved husband of Linda for 41 wonderful years and devoted father to Samantha (Ryan) and Jeff (Vanessa). Nothing brought him greater joy than being "Papa" to his cherished granddaughters, Morgan and Jamie, who were the light of his life. <br>He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Barbara Poirier; his siblings, Charlotte (Tommy), Daniel (Nora), and Jocelyn (Steve); his sister-in-law, Lori (Camillo) and Melanie; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Roger Poirier. <br>Tom will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, generosity , and unwavering love for his family. <br>Tom dedicated many years of his career at BDC, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues. Away from work, he could almost always be found at the rink or on the golf course. His friends know that some of his best rounds were finished on the 19th hole, and that many of hockey's greatest stories were told in the dressing room. <br>His family will forever cherish the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind.
