Thomas Kelly of Pierrefonds, Quebec passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the age of 89. After several months of declining health, Tom died peacefully with his son Roy at his side.

Tom and twin sister Jean were born in Sunderland, England on May 27, 1931, to father Bernard Kelly and mother Margaret Donaldson. Growing up in a ship-building town, Tom worked many odd jobs at a young age to help support his family while finishing his education. At the age of 18 he was conscripted into the British Army and was stationed in Egypt for two years. Tom often shared sun-filled memories of daily swims in the sea whilst acquiring many practical life skills during this pivotal period of his life.

Shortly after returning to England and still in military uniform, Tom met his beloved life partner, Patricia Florence Livermore, at a church social in Hayes. Pat and Tom were married in 1954 and welcomed their son Roy shortly thereafter. In 1960, the young Kelly family emigrated to Montreal and Tom enjoyed a long and successful career in the rail industry as a mechanic and electrician. His dear wife Pat passed in 2009.

Tom’s colorful charisma and passion for sports, music and art will be sorely missed by his many friends, his grandson Andrew, Roy & Sue. Tom’s spontaneous romantic ballads at family gatherings and how he always welcomed a quick spin around the dance floor will live on in our memories.

Due to restrictions, a visitation is not planned. People wishing to honor Tom’s lifelong commitment to family and community, can make donations to the MS Society of Canada via https://mssociety.ca/about-ms?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIz7Snx5yr8AIVywaICR3oCQz9EAAYASAAEgKO3fD_BwE
