With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of devoted father, brother, and grandfather Vicente De Leon at age 83.

Born in Manila in 1942, Vicente was the joyful son of Gordiana and Primitivo, one of eight siblings. There, he met the love of his life, Fe, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage as a beloved husband, having married on July 14, 1968. They later built a family life in Montreal, where he pursued a career as an engineer and was a loving, supportive father of his two sons, Vicente Jr. and Romeo. After retirement, Vicente embraced the role of a cherished, doting grandfather to Kiera, Ethan, Mikayla, Camilla, Violette, Kaël, and Nolan – treasuring each second spent with them.

Vicente found joy in cooking, tending his garden, and sharing a good laugh. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, particularly delighting himself with the slot machines. His playful sense of humour and fondness for joking brought smiles to those around him, instantly brightening up the room with his spirited wit. Other times, he would always be there to quietly sit next to, providing a shoulder to lie on and a meal to comfort the soul; his peaceful patience and selfless character were a gift second only to his warmest hugs.

Vicente will be lovingly remembered for the laughter he shared, the feasts he prepared, and the moments spent with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, sons, seven grandchildren, and all who knew and loved him from every corner of Canada, the U.S., and the Philippines.

On Tuesday, September 29th, Vicente was surrounded by family, finding peace as he felt the love he built throughout his life culminating in his very last moments. He will be deeply missed in the very crevices of all the hearts he touched but he will always be remembered
