It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincenzo (Vince) Malorni on July 2nd 2025 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in his 87th year. Predeceased by his first wife Ruth Clifford and his brothers John (late Lise), Joe (Diane) he leaves to mourn his beloved second wife of 24 years Barbara Bidwell McGerrigle, brother Robert (Danielle) and sister-in-law Diane (Wayne) as well as many loving nieces, nephews, step children, and members of his extended family.
At the age of 60, and after 40 years in the paper business, he hung up his curling broom to spend his winters in Florida swinging a golf club, playing shuffle board and volunteering his time as treasurer for the park governing board. Once back home in Kirkland he kept up his golf game as a member of the Vaudreuil Golf club where he played numerous times a week and helped organize senior tournaments, especially the year end tournament and another in Hemmingford honoring his late wife. In 2017, after many years of splitting their time between Florida and Kirkland, they decided to stay north all year round. During this time, he joined the Pincourt Second Mile Senior's club where he took on the role of treasurer and made many new friends, all the while continuing to help out whenever he saw an opportunity.
Vince will be remembered for his kindness towards others, time spent at his cottage in Lake Labelle, love of karaoke, endless hours crafting his marble game for all who expressed an interest (and regularly challenging others to games himself) and passion for sports, especially golf.
The family would like to thank all the medical professionals of the Jewish General, Saint Anne’s Rehabilitation, Vivalis CHSLD and Lakeshore General Hospital who helped take care of him over the past year.
A service will be held at the Rideau Funeral Home 4275 boulevard des Sources D.D.O. 514-685-3344. On Friday August 1st 2025 visitations 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. funeral service at 1:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charities close to Vince’s heart; the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care, Cancer Research Society, Heart and Stroke Society or any other charity of your choice.
