<div itemprop="description">Vinod Kumar Batra, born in India on November 12, 1941, died suddenly of a heart attack on Thursday, February 27, 2020, going into his higher calling. <br> <br>He immigrated to Montreal, Canada with his parents, Jagdish and Sarla Batra (both deceased) and sister, on June 12, 1954.&nbsp; After finishing his schooling in Montreal, he worked for the National Film Board of Canada till his retirement.&nbsp; He was an avid photographer, leaving millions of photographs of cherished memories. He was an highly spiritual human being with a kind and gentle heart and a beautiful soul with a beautiful innocent smile. <br> <br>He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Sudesh Batra nee Malik; their three beautiful and extraordinary daughters, Vanita, Sunita and Kavita and son in law Sebastien Fitch; his amazing six grandchildren – Shobhita, Sadhika and Samdeesh; Reilly and Soren; and his youngest granddaughter, the light of his life, Leia aka Bubbly, who always managed to put a big smile on his face.&nbsp; <br> <br>My Vinodi, will also be dearly missed by me, his one and only sister Veena Jain and brother in law, Vijay K. Jain, aka Bijji; and their children – Sanjiv & Karen; Rajiv & Lisa and Puja & Simon; and six grandchildren – Jordan and Jasmine; Jaiden and Sarla; and Milan and Misha. <br> <br>Not only was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle to us all,&nbsp; but a dear friend, who was and will always be very close to our hearts. <br> <br>He will also be dearly missed by his aunts and uncles, cousins, extended families and dear, dear friends. <br> <br>May YOU rest in peace!!&nbsp; Love you and will miss you – enjoy your freedom and peace in heaven above.&nbsp; Forever in our hearts!!&nbsp; God Bless!!!&nbsp; <br> <br>OM SHANTI!!! <br> <br>The Family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home (4275 boul.
