It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia Fowler (nee McCullough) on Saturday, April 26th after 79 beautiful years of life. “Ginny” is remembered fondly for her kindness, generosity, loving authenticity, and lightness of being.
She will be greatly missed by her son and daughter (Kevin and Laura), sister (Maureen), grand children (Anna and Emily), nieces (Leigh and Joy), brother-in-law (Charlie), daughter-in-law (Sabrina), son-in-law (Ralph), ex-husband (Graham) and his family (Tony, Nathan, Leigh-anne, Jennifer, Terry), and many caring friends (Lois, Jann, Diane and countless others).
We pray that her dog Annie has accompanied her on her journey to heaven where she will be reunited with her father (Ernest), mother (Margaret) and many cherished friends.
Virginia was born on December 16, 1945, in Winnipeg. She moved to Montreal (Dorval) at the age of seven, graduated Lachine High School in 1963, then attended teacher’s college at McGill’s MacDonald Campus. Early in her teaching career she completed her master's in special education at McGill. She taught at Riverdale HS, Victoria School, Somerled, Vanier and, notably, Mackay Center where she worked for the last 21 years of her 36-year career. Many of her co-teachers were close friends and she is no doubt warmly remembered by her students.
Ginny was also a very spiritual person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working with her church, reading, writing and gardening. She will be deeply missed, and her spirit will live on in our hearts.
