It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Kenneth Minshall, who passed away peacefully in Montreal, Quebec, on July 16, 2025, at the age of 81.
Wayne was born in Brantford, Ontario, on April 17, 1944, to the late Pauline and Ken Minshall. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Minshall-Gazendam, with whom he shared many cherished years.
A devoted father, Wayne leaves behind his sons: Dwayne (Linda), Brad (Kelly), Cory (Laura), and Jeff. He was a proud grandfather to Josh, Dwhyte, Kristina, Keagan, Nick, Victoria, and Dellanie, and a doting great-grandfather to Griffen, Kai, Tidus, Mason, and Zachariah.
Wayne will also be dearly missed by his brother Ron Minshall, along with extended family, friends, and his treasured animal companions Kira and Poohboo (dogs), Precious and Smoosh (cats), all of whom brought him great joy.
Over the course of his 49-year career as a broker, Wayne drove more than 3 million miles-a remarkable achievement that reflected his tireless dedication and work ethic. Outside of work, Wayne's life was defined by generosity, humour, and creativity. For 30 years, he joyfully took on the role of Santa Claus, bringing smiles to countless faces, and for 15 years he also served as the Easter Bunny in his community.
Wayne was a true animal lover, and animals adored him in return. He was known for his great kindness, a keen sense of humor, and an inventive, analytical mind that saw solutions where others saw problems.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
