It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Mavis Rode Wiet, who left us on March 6, 2026, at the age of 72 after a brave and determined battle with cancer. Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a cherished friend to the many people whose lives she touched.
Sue was the devoted wife of Helmut Wiet and a proud and loving mother to her three children, Jennifer (Christopher), Jason (Lisa), and Jeffrey. She was a deeply devoted grandmother to Kyla, Quinn, Cadence, and Kai, who brought her immense joy. She was also the beloved younger sister of Frank Rode and Linda Labonte, and will be dearly missed by her many relatives and friends.
Sue was known for her warmth, kindness, and genuine concern for others. She had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for, and she touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her generous spirit and loving heart will be remembered always by those she met along her journey.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at Rideau Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
