It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William Adolphus Yearwood, affectionately known as Bill or Will, who entered his rest in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Born on June 1, 1945, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to Nathaniel Yearwood and Mabel Richardson, William immigrated to Canada in the 1960s and made his home in Montreal, Quebec. He worked at General Motors of Canada for the majority of his professional career until his retirement.

A devoted Seventh-day Adventist Christian, he was fondly known as “The Candyman” for the sweets he happily shared with children at various churches. A true conversationalist, William was never short on words, stories, or opinions — his presence was always known and felt.

William had a deep appreciation for cars, attending car shows annually and tinkering with vehicles whenever he could. As an apprentice plumber back in Saint Vincent, he developed skills that he later put to use in maintaining his home and assisting with various household projects. He loved cricket and baseball, enjoyed capturing moments through photography, and was a proud member of the Saint-Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Montreal.

He leaves to mourn his children, grandchildren, sibling, uncle and a host of relatives and friends.

Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the victory over death promised through Jesus Christ and the blessed hope of the resurrection
