It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Yolanda Anita DeNora, who passed away at the age of 93. She was the beloved spouse of the late Mr. George William Doran.
She will be missed by her daughters Sheena (Roland), and Amanda (Paul). Her 5 grandchildren ; Nicholas ( Rhiann), Sébastien ( Katherine), Taylor (Leigh), Alexis (Ben) and Joshua. In the 4 years following the passing of her husband Bill she became a great-grandmother and was able to meet Adrian, Charlie, and Danielle but missed the introduction of her 4th great grandchild Bailey by only 3 weeks.
She spent the last part of her life in a seniors residence with her brother John. They spent their days together side by side and often holding hands, they played games and had lots of visits from John’s family. She may not have remembered everyone’s names but she lit up when she saw us and knew we were family. She often told me that she was “lucky” so we understood this as she was content and comfortable with her surroundings, this gave us great peace as we knew she was in good hands.
Back in 2021, when COVID was restricting visits, we did a little fall photo shoot. We were able to pull up those pictures of Bill and Yolanda and use them to tell a story, the story of Bill coming back to find Yolanda 4 years after his passing…

The evening of March 6th, after having her supper, mom went to sit in the common room where she lives and took a nap. While she slept my dad came to see her to remind her that he took his last breath this same day, March 6th already 4 years ago. They sat and reminisced about their life over the years and all the happy times. He then asked her to join him so they could continue their journey together, she thought about the family that she would leave behind but also realized that it was time to close this chapter of her life. With her decision made, she took his hand as he then led the way to the light.
RIP mom
Love you forever
