<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zaven Altounian on December 7th at Sunrise Dollard-des-Ormeaux Residence. <br> <br>He is predeceased by his beloved wife Amira, his brother Zareh and his sister-in-law Annie. He leaves to cherish his memory his chosen family Anna, Hélène and Kerry. <br> <br>He was a humble, unassuming and brilliant McGill Physics Professor and Researcher who generously and tirelessly shared his knowledge with countless students and colleagues, many of whom are following in his footsteps around the world. <br> <br>Zaven was a special man – kind and patient, inquisitive, fun loving with a quirky sense of humour. He will be deeply missed – his sharp wit, his boyish laughter and his ability to make the complicated seem simple and on occasion, the simple, complicated. Zaven always found the positive in people and in life. <br> <br>Visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, located at 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6, on December 15, 2024, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Eulogies will follow at 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Rideau Memorial Gardens located at 4239 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6 December 17, 2024 at 11:00 am. <br> <br>We would like to thank the staff of the Sunrise Dollard-des-Ormeaux Residence for their care and compassion during his stay. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. <br></div>
