<div itemprop="description">Adelina Marzo Fontanilla passed on the evening of Sunday December 30th at her home in Dollard des Ormeaux. She was fondly called Tita or Manang, and was born in (Oaquing, San Juan) La Union, Philippines on the 1st of November 1926 to Faustino and Paciencia (nee Marzo) Fontanilla. <br> <br>In 1979 she moved to Montreal, Quebec and lived with her younger sister, Avelina (Belen), and brother in law Nay Sour, and their young family. Tita played an integral part in the lives of her niece (Neige Rose) and nephew (Norodom Peter), cultivating a sense of order and routine in each of them. <br> <br>She integrated to Canadian living with a true joie de vivre. She was skilled at sewing and became a tailor; sewing nurses uniforms, and dresses for friends and family. Tita became a vivacious part of the Filipino Seniors community and would attend their monthly gatherings. She loved dressing up, socializing and dancing with her friends. <br> <br>Tita’s grand-nephews and grand-nieces, near and far were her heart and joy. There is no denying that they were the people she loved the most. She would always beam in the company of Neelan, Nevan and Macie. <br> <br>She will always be remembered for her generous spirit, her quiet calming presence and the care she gave to others. <br>Loved ones that cleared the path for Tita are her parents, the late Faustino A. and Paciencia (nee Marzo) Fontanilla, her brothers, Benjamin, Juan and Faustino Jr. Fontanilla; her brother-in-law Leandro Barican and sisters-in-law Gertrudez (Devarias) Fontanilla and Vicenta (Cruz) Fontanilla. <br>Loved ones that will miss Tita/Manang until they meet again are her brothers Mariano and Elpidio (Yolanda Ortiz); sisters Geronima (Benjamin) Tumbaga, Avelina (Nay Sour) Var and Florentina Barican; sister-in-law Anicita (Cortez) Fontanilla; her numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. <br> <br>A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday January 6th 2019 at the Rideau Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 09:00am-10:30am followed by a service. <br> <br>The family would appreciate donations to the Quebec Diabetes Foundation in Adelina’s memory. <br></div>
