It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arnold Greschner on July 29, 2024. At the age of eighty-six, Arnold passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore Hospital with his family by his bedside.
Arnold will be deeply missed by his daughters Karen (Steve), Carol (Steven) & Christine (Marcus), his grandchildren Ellen, Jesse, Tyler & Amy, and his great granddaughter Willow.
Arnold was married to his beloved wife and partner, Betty, for thirty-six years. After Betty passed away in 1999, he developed a deeper relationship with his girls. He was affectionately called “Papa” by all his grandchildren.
Arnold worked at Bell Canada for thirty-three years and had the pleasure of taking early retirement at the age of fifty-two. Arnold fully enjoyed his retirement and was able to pursue the activities that he loved most: bowling, golf, stamp & coin collecting, and cheering on his favorite Montreal sport teams.
He loved to tell and hear a good joke, offer guidance on finances and sports, and was always competitive in every game he played.
As Arnold often said, “I have lived a good life.”
Thank you to the staff at the Lakeshore Hospital for taking care of him in his final days.
In honor of his memory, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Arnold at the Rideau Funeral Home (4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux.) on September 8th, 2024, between 2 and 4 pm.
