<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Aurelio “Ray” Vitale, after a four year battle with cancer, on October 22nd, 2020. <br> <br>Beloved husband of Joanne Cassetta of 36 years, he also leaves behind his beautiful daughters Vanessa (Elias Girgi) and Melissa (Ramy Hobeika), his cherished grandchildren Alexander, Elena, Adriano and Rayan. Son of Joseph and Angiolina Vitale, he will also be greatly missed by his brothers Georges (Danielle) and Ronald (Josie), brother-in-law Carmine (Mary) and sister-in-law Maco. He will also be fondly remembered by his loving nieces Sabrina and Mia, nephews Marc, Joey, Danny, Kevin, James and Matteo, their families, as well as many cousins, friends and colleagues. <br> <br>Visitations will be held at the Rideau Funeral Home (4275 Sources Blvd. DDO, H9B 2A6) on Thursday October 29th, 2020, from 10am to 3pm, followed by a private religious ceremony. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Rideau Memorial Gardens. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, Ray would have greatly appreciated that donations be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation in support of the Lung Cancer Fund: <br> <br>A special thanks to the doctors and staff at UCSF Medical Center and the Jewish General Hospital, specifically to Dr. Thierry Jahan, Dr. Mitchel Berger, Dr. Jean Nakamura, Dr. Robert Lubarski, and Dr. Victor Cohen, for their care and compassion. <br> <br>The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Marc Benioff for his kindness and support. <br> <br>PLEASE NOTE: Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the family understands that not everyone will be comfortable attending the funeral service. Visitations will be limited to 25 people for a period of 15 minutes in rotation (with required masks and social distancing). <br></div>
