It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillborn birth of our precious baby, Nick Antonio Colubriale, on September 25th, 2020, at 08:48 am. We had eagerly anticipated the day of his birth, but God had other plans for our little angel’s spirit. We only got to hold him for a short amount of time in our arms, but we will hold him in our hearts forever. This is not goodbye, our sweet little boy, we will be together again one day.

Nick is survived by his loving mommy and daddy, Antonella and Luigi, and his amazing big brother Vincenzo Angelo. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Angela Mendicino and Renato Vaccaro, his paternal grandparents, Connie and Vince Colubriale, as well as his great-grandmother and his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and Godparents who all love and miss him dearly.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Robert Koby, Dr. Angela Mallozzi and all the nurses and staff at The Royal Victoria Hospital who were so kind, going above and beyond to provide exceptional care to our family throughout this difficult time. We would also like to thank friends and family-- near and far-- for the unbelievable outpouring of love and support you have given us during this unimaginably devastating moment in our lives. It has touched our hearts in ways we can never fully express.

A private mass will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, September 30th, at Rideau Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for immediate family members only. It will also be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person due to the Covid-19 provincial restrictions on public gatherings. Burial will immediately follow the mass.

Live-stream for Wednesday, September 30, 2020 staring at 10:00am: http://www.livememorialservices.com/Home/ServiceDetail/6699

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Make-a-Wish Canada Foundation, who grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions; enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The link for the foundation will also be available on the funeral home website.

“We’ll see you in our dreams each night,
We’ll kiss your cheeks and hold you tight,
How do we learn to say goodbye?
you’ve flown away, our butterfly.”
