Peacefully at home, on June 11th, 2020, surrounded by family. David leaves behind his wife of 32 years Darcy, his children Bryan, Cory and Robyn (Jordan Day), his brother Eric (Luz Elena Plata). He also leaves behind his nephew Patrick, cousin/sister Kathy Sigurdson, as well as many nieces, nephews, many cousins and million friends.
He was predeceased by his father Jean Adrien LaRivière in 2015 and his mother Seana Theresa Norton in 2018.

I would like to thank the CLSC Vaudreuil for their fantastic service and loving dedication to David during the last few weeks. A special thank you to Jennifer Perron and Dr. Annick Therret-Hans for being so very honest and dedicated.
We could not have done this without you. You gave me the strength to do things that I never thought I could.
A big thank you to my sister Traci Fast, who came from Winnipeg to be with us to provide support and love during David’s last week at home.

In David’s words:
‘’As I hit the age of 60, I reflect on the life I’ve lived. Wonderful parents and a great brother (yes, we argued and fought when kids.) but all in all it was great. A chance to travel and live in different locations (my father was an RCMP member) so Ottawa and Quebec City, besides Montreal, were locations where I have lived, went to school and made new friends.
I look back to almost 35 years in my law enforcement career that was enriching and enjoyable. I’ve enjoyed my volunteer work and continue to do so.
I think about former co-workers, colleagues and friends. I thank you all for your dedication and hard work, and most of all your friendship. I’ve enjoyed my life, career and retirement and have no regrets.
I’ve been blessed with a lovely wife and three great children and we’ve enjoyed this life so far.’’

Due to the public health measures issued with the covid-19 pandemic, the family will hold a small, private funeral service at Rideau Funeral Home on Thursday, June 18th, 2020.

For those who wish to virtually attend the Service, a live stream of the funeral can be seen by 1:00 pm at:
www.livememorialservices.com/Home/ServiceDetail/6459

In lieu of flowers, David would like you to donate to the Alzheimer's Society of Quebec
