It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Donalda Evelyn MacLeod on December 6th, 2022. She died peacefully at Ste. Anne's Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Her battle with Alzheimer's disease is now over.

There are no words big enough to describe the woman and mother she was to her children, Kevin (Gina), Liana (Kirk), Michael (Elaine), Katie (Joel) and will also be missed and remembered by her grandkids, Christopher, Logan, Peyton, Kyla, Travis, Tyler, Nolan and Alexa.

Although born in British Columbia, her heart always remained in Nova Scotia where she attended boarding school and graduated from Mount Saint-Vincent. She then lived in Montreal where she raised four children on her own with a strength and love that can be matched by no other.

Donalda was very involved at St. Luke's parish, which led to lifelong friendships filled with love and laughter. But no friendship could be matched to the bond and devotion between her and Sandy Parkes. They shared an unbreakable connection and provided all of us with endless entertainment. They were life partners and shared a true "ride or die" attitude together and are now finally reunited.

Donalda touched many lives with her work at Batshaw or by simply talking to the next person in line at the bank. She was always up for a good gab, a true maritimer indeed!

She was as tough as they come, as kind as can be and always gave such good advice.

Her death leaves a huge void in our hearts that will never be the same.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 6th, 2023 at Rideau Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm. Then an Irish wake will take place on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre, from 7:00-10:00pm where all are welcome to come celebrate the life of Donalda and raise a glass in her memory.
