It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Lafontaine (Collins) on Monday October 28th, 2019 at the age of 85, at the Montreal Neurological Hospital.

Beloved wife to late husband Yvon and loving mother to her three sons, Charles (Martha), Marc (Faye) and Paul (Marie-Chantal).
Grandma will be missed by Jennifer, Mathieu, Richard, Lauren, and Danielle.

Eileen lived an active life, always taking part in all kinds of hobbies and activities like travel, painting and line dancing just to name a few.
In her older age, she also loved to walk and explore everywhere around her, especially by the Lachine canal. She loved being by the water and looking out at the Lac St Louis shoreline. If the weather was not cooperating, she would stroll through the hallways at her residence talking to everyone along the way. Mom would often say “you know, there aren’t many walkers in this building”, but that never stopped her. One of her daily pleasures was going down to enjoy a blueberry muffin with a great cup of coffee while she read the Gazette.
In her residence, Mom also got to spend some time with her longtime friend Joan Patafie, from her days working at Laura Secord. When Mom told us that Joan was moving into the building, she could hardly believe her luck of seeing her best friend every day.
Mom was never one to be fussed over, but she would always check in with us on how her hair looked. We always smiled and said, “it looks great”. She took pride in always being smartly dressed when she went out of her apartment. It was important to her to be confident and well presented to the world.

We will remember her cute expressions, empathetic heart and delicious cooking fondly.
We take comfort in knowing that after being apart for so long, she is now with her one true love, Yvon, our dad and grandfather.

Visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home (4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9B 2A6, (514) 685-334) on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 2-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital (www.mcgill.ca/neurogiving)

We love you, rest in peace!

*************************************************************************************************************************************
