It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Ellina Fernandes, on June 6th, 2024, at the age of 72.
She leaves behind her loving children Angeline (Christopher), Shiela (Stephen), Pamela (Christopher), and her grandchildren Marina, Matthew, Quinten, Tiana and Kylie. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Ralph (Marilyn), Michael, Lawrence (Rose), Charles, Daphne, Beatrice (Paul), Terence (Tammy), Glenys (Evaristo), Kenneth (Danielle).
Anyone who knew her, be it even for a day, would say that she had a heart of gold. Selfless. Patient. Caring and loving. She was full of Grace. She had a very strong Faith and was first and foremost a Child of God.
She loved her family and friends dearly and was sure to keep in touch regularly. She loved the thrill of a good game of cards or dominoes. She loved music, dancing and was a great host to all who entered her home.
She was devoted in caring for the disabled in a manner that gave them a voice, a joy for life and an extended family.
Mom’s time arrived, but we weren’t ready. She will be missed beyond words.
In her memory, a donation can be made to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. To donate please go directly to their website and click on DONATE NOW or DONATE if using a device at the top of the page and fill in the required information.
