It is with deep sadness that Elsa's family announces her passing after a brief illness on January 5, 2021. She was 86 years young.
Predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Sebastian Schneider and her sister Hedwig (Alex) Czertok. Elsa is survived by her daughters Christine (Jerry) Silinka and Sylvia (Wayne) Fairchild, her grandchildren David (Tracy), Michael (Heather), and Amber (Denis) and her five great grandchildren Hailey, Justin, Blake, Rebecca and Jessica. She also leaves behind a brother Otto (Utta) Weber and several nieces and nephews both in Canada and her native Germany, plus many friends who were all a very important part of her life.

Elsa lived in Pointe Claire for 55 years. She retired from Merck Frosst after a 35 year career. She loved to travel, knit, play bridge, entertain, go to the movies and visit with her many cherished friends. Above all Elsa loved her family and was always interested to hear what was going on in their lives. She was an enthusiastic adopter of technology often at the wonder and amazement of her many friends and family.

Her family would like to thank the amazing medical staff on Sacré-Coeur’s Covid ward for the kindness and compassion given to Elsa and her family.

A celebration of life will be held when it is safe to do so. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
