With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Evelyn Mary Buchanan on September 3, 2024.
Mary, as she was affectionately known, was born and raised in British Columbia. She joined the Air Force, where she met and later married Robert Buchanan. Their 46 years of marriage were a testament to their enduring love, lasting until his passing in 2003.
Mary had a deep passion for gardening and spent countless joyful hours in her kitchen baking sweets for family and friends. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone around her.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Grace; her grandchildren, Jessie, Andrew (Abbie), and Laura (Sevelin); and her great-grandchildren, who knew her as a proud great-grandma. Mary was predeceased by her son, Robert (Anita); her grandson, Christopher; and her son-in-law, Gordon.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Center for their exceptional care and compassion.
A visitation will be held on September 16, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.
