With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Fortunato (Nato) Sergi , who peacefully passed away on Monday, November 4 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Nato courageously battled Parkinson’s Disease for 32 years, facing each challenge with unwavering strength and determination. His resilience and spirit were an inspiration to all who knew him, and his legacy of courage will remain in our hearts forever.
Nato is survived by his devoted wife, Angie; his children, Christopher (Liz) and Laura (Paul); and his sister, Connie (Annito). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren—Dominic, Valentina, Sofia, and Ava—whose presence brought him immeasurable joy and pride as he watched them grow.
The family will receive condolences starting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 8, followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. at the Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Boul Des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, H9B 2A6.
In honor of his commitment to advancing Parkinson’s research, Nato generously donated his brain to the Douglas Brain Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in his memory to The Neuro, Montreal. Please see the "Make a Donation" link at the bottom of this page.
Nato’s kindness and compassion touched many lives, and he will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
