Geoffrey Collar
August 14, 1925 - October 31, 2019
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of the man with the beautiful smile, Geoffrey Arthur Collar, cherished husband, adored father
and loving grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by Barbara, his treasured and devoted wife of 72 years, with whom he shared a love story like no other.
Adored father to Vicki-Jane Collar (Phillip) and Jo-Anne Collar (Herb) and grandfather to Stephan Beauregard (Nicole),
Ashley-Jane Richards (Kaveh), Morgan Richards and godson and namesake Geoffrey Griffin.
Geoffrey was an Engineer for over forty years with Northern Electric and Bell Northern Research. The highlight of his career was living and working in Istanbul,Turkey for several years in the seventies. He enjoyed playing Rugby for the Westmount Barbarians and was an accomplished sailor. He appreciated music and was a dancer extraordinaire!
He passed away peacefully at age 94 on the morning of October 31, 2019, after having a wonderful life but sadly struggled with dementia
in his last few years.
Our Hero!
Thank you to the staff of Centre d'Herbergement Lachine, especially to his new friend Jean-Pierre Hayeur who made his last days enjoyable.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
