It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Vamvakaris, who left us peacefully on August 7, 2024. Born on December 4, 1928, in Sparti, Greece, George lived a life full of love and devotion. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend.
George is reunited with his beloved wife, Olympia (née Vlahou) Vamvakaris. He is survived by his loving sons, Peter, Costa, and Nick (Vicki), as well as his dear grandsons, George and Alexander. His memory will also be lovingly kept alive by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
George touched the lives of countless people with his warmth and kindness, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held in his honor at St. Constantine & Hellen Church, located at 20 Brunswick Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec H9R 5P9. The service will take place on August 20, 2024, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a mass at 11:00 AM.
