Hilda Zannis
October 30, 1919 - April 21, 2022
Passed away peacefully at age 102.
She leaves to mourn her daughter Brenda (Bruce Wylie) and family, the family of her late son Mark (Lynne Williams), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and their families in Québec, Ontario, Connecticut, Long Island, and the UK.
Hilda lived in several countries and travelled extensively. Born and raised in Germany, she left in 1937 to study in Geneva. She lived through the war years in England as a childrens' nurse and came to Canada in 1946, worked and raised a family. Widowed in 1968, she moved to NYC, where she enjoyed the city for 24 years both for the arts and volunteer work she did, before returning to Montreal. She was always a forward looking person who supported many humanitarian causes. Always open minded, she was kind and caring, and accepted others without prejudice.
A special thanks to the care givers at the residence who were always kind to her and treated her with affection in her last few years.
