<div itemprop="description">Irene was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on November 5, 1937 (Guy Fawkes Day). Her life was marked by perseverance and determination as she bravely fought bone marrow cancer for the last five and a half years before peacefully passing away.<br><br>She is mourned by her loving husband, Travers, with whom she shared 68 wonderful years of marriage, and her sons Colin (Susan and stepdaughter Nicole) and Grant. She was a cherished grandmother to Leala (Tyler) and Noah (Alyssa).<br><br>Irene was an avid bridge player, passionate about square dancing, round dancing, and lawn bowling. She also found joy in singing in the choir.<br><br>We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lakeshore Hospital Day Medicine (especially nurses Sandra and Janet and PAB Michel), as well as Teresa Dellar, Mandeep Litt, and the girls from the CLSC.
