James Carroll
March 2, 1934 - October 28, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. James Carroll on October 28, 2020 at St Mary's Hospital at the age of 86. Loving and cherished husband of 60 years of the late Nora Mary McIvor. He will be deeply missed by his children John (Gail), Cathy (Mary) and Patty (Giovanni). His loving grandchildren, Tara, Sean, Jordan, Janina and Xavier and his great grandchildren Rhythm and Jaxon. His sister Agnes and brother Leo in Ireland and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents John and Annie, brothers Vince, Michael, Oliver, Malachy, Odren and John Joseph and sisters Mary and Anna.
Born in Co. Louth, Ireland, Jimmy, as he was known to many, was a proud Irishman. He loved to share stories and sing out a tune whenever he had the chance. He was a generous man who was devoted to his family. He had a deep love for sports and was cheerleader and fan to many. He loved life and was well loved by all who had the luck of meeting him.
A special thank you to Iye, who cared for him over his last few years. She has become part of the family. Thank you to St. Mary's Hospital staff for their compassionate care and to the staff of Pavillon LaSalle.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Batshaw Foundation Holiday Basket Fund would be appreciated.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 9:30 am until 1:30 pm. The service and burial will commence at 1:30.
PLEASE NOTE: Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the family understands that not everyone will be comfortable attending the funeral service. Visitations will be limited to 25 people for a period of 15 minutes in rotation (with required masks and social distancing).
