With great sadness, the family of Jean Elizabeth Murphy (Nee: Dunn) announces her passing. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children Dennis (Donna), Kathryn (Pat), Brenda (Laris), grandchildren Krystine (Alex), Greg (Jen), Vanessa, Kyle, Sydney, John, Liana, and great-grandchild Henry, nieces and nephews, and her sisters-in-law Betty and Ruth.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 26 years, Keith, and her 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Jean was born in Denison Mills Quebec. Her late father was Reverend Canon Wm. C. Dunn and her late mother was Mereita Jane LeMesurier. Her family lived in various locations due to her father’s ministries at different parishes.
Jean loved to knit, needlepoint, do crafts such as Christmas ornaments and jewelry, do crosswords and play card games. She loved gardening and had a large vegetable garden when she lived in Beaconsfield.
Jean was a strong willed and independent person. Her husband passed away 35 years ago and she continued to live independently ever since. She travelled with her sister Ivy, visiting such places as Ecuador, Alaska, Canada, and enjoyed many camping trips.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Le Felix retirement home and at the CHSLD Vaudreuil-Dorion for their excellent care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jean Murphy’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Mom, we love you and miss you already.
