<div itemprop="description">Jean Norma Nelson, born February 25, 1941 in Trinidad and Tobago, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on January 16, 2026 in Kirkland, Quebec, after a valiant battle with cancer. <br> <br>Jean was a devoted mother to her beloved children, Marion (Roy) and Curtis, grandmother to Annasha, Jelani, and Rashaun, and great-grandmother to Corann. Pre-deceased by her mother Stella (2024) and father Kenny (2006), she will be dearly missed by her sister Shirley (the late Dennis), brothers Kelvin (Patricia) and Leon, nephews Shawn, Stephan, Kevin, and Shervaughn, and long-time companion Clement, as well as many other cherished members of her extended family and close friends with whom she faithfully maintained contact. <br> <br>Jean was known for her generous spirit, always ready to help her family, friends, and neighbours—be it with a listening ear, hot meal, or open heart. She lived each day with enthusiasm and appreciation, particularly enjoying gatherings with loved-ones and dancing to her favourite music. Never wanting to be a burden to others, Jean faced life—even her final chapter—without complaint. <br> <br>Her family takes comfort in knowing her soul now lives at peace with the Lord. <br> <br>Many thanks to all the staff at the Montreal Glen site and Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for their kind and compassionate care. <br> <br>The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4239 boul. des Sources, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec, on February 7, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm.
