It is with great love that we remember Joan, our dear ‘’Snookey’’, who passed away peacefully on February 11, with her devoted daughter Sandy by her side...

Joan lived life to the fullest.

She enjoyed world travels, good food, wine and conversation. Joan had a great sense of humour and fun. She was wonderful company and a generous, loyal friend. Joan was a devoted partner to her great love, Ron, and they shared so many happy times together.
She was known for her sharp wit and intelligence, starting each day with a ritual of crosswords and Sudoku challenges. She had a keen interest in current events and relished a good debate. Joan loved working and she enjoyed a long career at Canadian National Railways.
Above all, Joan was dedicated to her family who always came first in her eyes. She took care of her mother (Maw) in her final years and was always on hand to help out if there was a family member in need. She cherished her beloved daughter, Sandy, treasuring their life together and their home with their four feline friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred (Bob), Muriel (Bobby) and Donna (Sid), as well as her partner Ron. She will be forever missed by Sandy as well as by her nieces, nephews and friends.

Thank you to Dr. Neamt and the home care nursing team, as well as the wonderful staff and volunteers at the West Island Palliative Care Residence.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the West Island Palliative Care Foundation.
