<div itemprop="description">In Loving Memory of JOHANN IAMMATTEO HALTINER <br> <br>Gentle eyes mirrored his gentle soul! <br> <br>Johann was generous, fair-minded, argumentative, an advocate for the less fortunate, often humorous - a true comedian! <br>A fervent history buff and gifted storyteller, he would entertain us with his narrative renditions of biblical and historical characters. <br>Spiritual and philosophical, Johann made it his mission to read and study the Bible, the Quran, Buddhism and finally Taoism. <br> <br>Johann was born at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal on a Tuesday, November 12 at 16:29 ET. <br>He was raised in Dorval and attended the following West Island Schools: Courtland Park, St. Thomas HS, Macdonald HS, and Lakeside Academy. He graduated from the latter HS in 2009. <br> <br>Sponsored by his Nonno in 2004 & 2009, Johann travelled on 2 EF school trips organized by his mother and experienced the following European cities: London, Paris, Lucerne, Mount Pilates, Heidelberg, Munich, Dachau, Venice, Florence, the Vatican, Rome, Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii, Delphi and Athens. <br>Johann considered himself well travelled! <br> <br>In 2010, passionate about Science and Technology, Johann enrolled at Dawson College in Applied Science. He was very proud of his achievements, especially, in Mathematics! <br> <br>Independent and brave from a young age, Johann continued his adventurous streak and moved out West to Barrhead, Alberta, his father’s hometown, in August 2012. He was 2 months shy of his 21st birthday. Ever-curious and creative, Johann took the time to learn the indigenous frame drum. <br>In 2015, Johann went to Edmonton, rented an apartment and continued his studies at NAIT - Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. <br>Persevering through obstacles, all on his own, asking for little help, he obtained a certificate in 2016: HVAC Specialist with Honors. <br> <br>In 2017, he was granted a diploma in: Building Environmental Systems Technology <br>While working a few years for Lennox in Edmonton, he also continued his studies at NAIT. <br>Johann was also the co-historian of the ASHRAE Northern Alberta Chapter. <br> <br>In 2022, Johann finally achieved a: Bachelor of Technology for Management <br>Becoming an accomplished Mechanical Designer, Johann moved to Smithers, BC where he worked for Rocky Point Engineering Ltd. - his dream job! He finally felt the appreciation and respect from his co-workers which he had so searched for. <br> <br>An amateur financial investor, Johann was trading his own stocks and contributing to his TFSA. <br> <br>An aspiring entrepreneur, he innovated his own app - JOBIDDY which would have been launched in January, 2024. <br> <br>Passionate, intense, humble and generous, Johann would make sure, when seeing a homeless person, that money or food was given! <br> <br>On Tuesday, December 19, 2023 around 4pm ET, a short but intense life full of dreams and promise was unfairly taken in a tragic truck- car accident on Highway 16 near Terrace, BC. <br> <br>We are forever heartbroken, but our focus is on honoring and remembering him. <br>Johann, you will always be with us! Love you forever! <br> <br>A thoughtful and loving son to his parents, Marie-Antoinette & Emil Edgar <br>A thoughtful and loving brother to his sisters, Maia Emilia & Ariana(Ana) Heidi <br>A thoughtful and loving nephew to his Aunt Lena <br>Johann will be sadly missed by his family, his aunts, his uncles, his many cousins, his friends and co-workers! <br> <br>A service, viewing & cremation were held in Abbotsford, BC on January 3rd-4th, 2024. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Homeless Shelter of your choice in Johann’s name. <br> <br></div>
