<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John Alexander William <br>Prevost on April 12th, 2024. Surrounded by all those he held dear, John bid farewell after a brief yet valiant battle with cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and remarkable achievements that will forever be cherished by his family and all who knew him. <br> <br>Born in 1950 in Verdun, Quebec, John was the beloved son of Gilbert and Margo Prevost. He was a cherished brother to Eileen (Edward) and Brian and brother-in-law to Richard (Charlotte). In a bond that transcended time, John shared over 50 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Kristine. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter, including their children Jason (Isabelle), Chris, and Tiffany (Ian), his nieces and his nephew, and the lights of his life, grandchildren Lia and Jesse. <br> <br>Throughout his esteemed career, John made significant contributions to various industries, leaving an indelible mark wherever he went. From his tenure at Canadian Gypsum to his roles at Campeau, Québec Air, Market Facts, Avon, PartyLite, and Mi3, he demonstrated unparalleled dedication and professionalism. <br> <br>John's passion and commitment were recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Ivan P. Phelan Award in 2006, honoring his substantial contributions to the advancement of the Direct Selling Association in Canada. His tireless efforts also earned him the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, a testament to his outstanding contributions to business, community, and country. <br> <br>Beyond his professional endeavors, John was deeply engaged in his community, serving as Commissioner for the Baldwin Cartier School Board and as a Provisional Council member for the Lester B. Pearson School Board. His involvement with the Direct Selling Association (DSA) in both Canada and the United States reflected his commitment to excellence and ethical business practices. <br> <br>In this time of grief, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of the Lachine General Hospital and the MUHC Royal Victoria Hospital, the dedicated Oncology Team and staff of the 4th floor at the Lakeshore General Hospital. Their unwavering care and humanity provided solace and comfort during John's final days. <br> <br>John's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were privileged to know him.
