<div itemprop="description">Jonathan Grenville Kirton - Born August 11, 1934 at Purley Oaks, Surrey, England passed away on April 5th, 2019 in Hudson, Quebec at age 84. He leaves behind his wife Joan Suzanne (nee Salter), his children, Richard (Valerie), Vicki, Sarah (Serge), Kursteen (Scott), Roy-John (Julia) and grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, Ella, Emma, Vaughn, Harry, Manan, Nadia, Mealla and Finley, his brother Nick (Judy), nephew Adam (Karen), niece Lisa, and brother-in-law Joe (Sharon), adored Aunt Jean, cousins Blair (Eve), Wendy, Ian (Maureen), and Judy. Jonathan was educated at St. Andrews at Eastbourne. After the war he moved to Montreal with his parents and brother. He read Engineering at McGill University and spent his working life as an industrial designer of aircraft interiors. Prior to his retirement he was chief designer for the Bombardier company in Montreal, designing the interiors of executive aircrafts that had been bought by countries around the world. In his youth he was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Reserve and a founding member of the Montreal MG Car Club where he enjoyed racing and restoring MG's and a very special Aston Martin S47. He was an avid shooter and served many years as president of the Lower Canada Arms Collector's Society and Quebec Rifle Association. Jonathan was a published author of books on antique firearms, aircraft and several articles for The Journal of the Historical Breechloading Small Arms Association. He did extensive research on family genealogy and published privately a family history of the Kirton line back to the 12th century. Jonathan faced life with joy and enthusiasm.
