<div itemprop="description">It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the recent passing of both our dear Mother, Joyce Frances Johnston, at the age of 81, and dear Father, Edward John Johnston, at the age of 83. <br> <br>Joyce was the daughter of the late Harold W Butler and Catherine Mabel Agnes Alarie, and Sister to Dawn Butler Gore and Hal Butler. <br>Edward was the son of the late William John Johnston and Elizabeth Lillian Johnston, and Brother to the late William Charles (Billy) Johnston. <br>They were loving Mom and Dad to their children Ed (Deb), Ellen (Peter) and Larry (Cristina); and cherished Grandma and Grandpa to their grandchildren; Andrew, Colin, Kyle, Adam, Daniel, and step-grandchildren Anthony and Chris. <br>Joyce and Edward will be greatly missed by their nieces, nephews, extended family and many great friends who were a big part of their lives. Forever in all of our hearts! <br>Joyce and Ed were married for over 60 years. They spent most of their childhood in NDG and Hampstead and Lachine respectively, then after marrying, in Pointe Claire, Quebec. Mom enjoyed a 29 year career at Eatons, Dad enjoyed his career of 34 years at J.H. Ryder Machinery in Pointe Claire, and later on at Strongco and Avis. <br>Mom and Dad loved their travel, including summer family beach vacations, and their respective activities, Mom Golf and painting, Dad Cars and driving. They are both remembered for their kindness, generosity, perseverance and sense of humour. <br> <br>The Family would like to give special Thanks to Samantha Philibert of CLSC West Island for her dedicated, loving care over 3 years, and to the many Social Workers, Nurses and Doctors at both l’Hebergement Denis-Benjamin Viger, Ile-Bizard and the Lakeshore General Hospital, Pointe Claire. <br> <br>A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Rideau Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
