It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie-Anne Bernard, on October 14, 2020, at the age of 28.

Laurie was the brightest light and was one of the most carefree and cheerful people that you could ever meet.
When we describe her as a bright light it refers to how you couldn’t help but smile or laugh with her, even though sometimes it was at her.
Even with her diagnosis her smile never faded and for the short periods it did it quickly returned with her Disney music quick to follow.
Laurie’s heart was worn on her sleeve and everyone she met is not only lucky to have met her, but she has changed so many lives with the short time she had, if that isn’t the goal, well what is?
Laurie has not only showed us how to live life to the fullest, but she taught us how to strive within the worst conditions.
Her fight has shown us that even in the darkest of times, a smile can go a long way.

She will be deeply missed by her mother Nancy Williams (Wayne Prince), her siblings Jamie and Jeremy, her snuggle buddy Kevin Gaffney, Linda Hooles whose constant support meant the world, her uncle Mike and auntie Kelly who we couldn’t do this without, and so many friends and family.
Due to the current health concerns, a celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montreal Oral School of the Deaf would be greatly appreciated.
As an alternate tribute, the family encourages donations to the Cedars Cancer Centre.

https://montrealoralschool.com/the-foundation/

https://www.cedars.ca/en/how-to-help/donations
