It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Magdalena (Maggie) Kosciukiewicz Kuziomko, on May 10th. She was predeceased by her husband Wincenty Kuziomko (1972 ); her sisters Jadwiga Miszuk (Jozef), Maria Grygorcewicz (Franek) and her brother Dominik (Jadwiga) in Belarus. She will be greatly missed by her children, Mary Gruchot (John), Helen Kuziemko (Matt), Stella Turchyn (Walter), Frank Kuziomko (Janet); by her grandchildren, Lisa Harvey (Richard) of Nova Scotia, Geoffrey Kuziemko (Flora) of California, Jennifer Johnson (Graham) of New York, Julie Gruchot ( Pasquale) of Montreal; and her great-grandchildren Jackson, Claire, Thomas, Lucas, Lilla, Avery and Poppy-Louise.

Magdalena emigrated to Canada from Poland in 1960. Through hard work and determination she was able to fulfill her dreams. She was a proud, independent and hard working woman whose love for her family was boundless. She made many sacrifices to give a good life to her children and grandchildren. Her strong work ethic was passed on to her family. She learned to sew when she was just a young girl and will be remembered by many as a very skillful seamstress.

Maggie enjoyed the outdoors. Working in her garden, tending to her flowers and maintaining an impeccable lawn that gave her great satisfaction. Mushroom picking was an activity she looked forward to each fall.
She loved to socialize and enjoyed family get-togethers and special celebrations.
She had a beautiful voice, loved singing, music and dancing. Maggie would be the first one to get up and dance at any gathering.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory, may be made to the Alzheimer’s association or a charity of one’s choice.

Due to the current situation a funeral service will be held on line on Wednesday, June 3rd. at 12:30. Details will be available on the Rideau Funeral Home website.

A memorial service and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Wieczny odpoczynek mama.
