<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaretta Croney Greaves on August 24, 2026, at Anna Laberge Hospital in Châteauguay. She was the daughter of the late Viola and Hubert Croney, a loving wife to the late Roger, and a mother to Michael (Judie), Anthony (Karen), and Yvonne (Pat, deceased). Margaretta is also survived by her grandchildren: Darryan, Kyla (Wisdom), Jaylan, Kiera, Shaylan, and Maura, as well as her great-granddaughter, Zaalia. Margaretta is predeceased by her sister Caroline (Simeon) and her brother Ivester (Lucille), and she leaves behind her sisters Wydott (Victor) and Marcia, nephews Hubert (Sheila), Rick (Catherine) and niece Jacqueline (Phillip) along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. <br> <br> <br>Margaretta was born in Barbados on April 26, 1941, emigrated to England, and then moved to Canada in 1964. Margaretta worked for many years as a dietitian at the Montreal General Hospital. She loved to cook, laugh and be surrounded by her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. <br> <br> <br>A visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3rd, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4th, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by the burial at 2:00 PM.
