It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michele Trapani on September 15, 2026, at the age of 94. Surrounded by the love of his family, Michele peacefully departed this world to be reunited with his beloved wife, Serafina, the love of his life, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was a beautiful example of devotion, companionship, and unconditional love.
Born in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily, in 1932, Michele carried the warmth, strength, and traditions of his homeland with him throughout his life. In the 1950s, he made the courageous journey to Montreal in search of new opportunities and a brighter future for himself and his family.
Through determination, perseverance, and countless hours of hard work, he built a life he was deeply proud of. As a restaurant owner, Michele shared his passion for food with everyone around him, and many would fondly say that he made the best pizza in town. For Michele, food was more than a meal; it was a way of bringing people together, creating memories, and expressing love.
Michele found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an exceptional gardener whose garden flourished under his loving care. Nothing made him happier than sharing his harvest with family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who stopped by. His generosity knew no bounds. Some of his happiest days were spent at the family cottage, gathered around a table filled with delicious food, laughter, stories, and the people he loved most.
Above all else, Michele was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Family was the center of his world and the source of his greatest pride and happiness.
He leaves behind, heartbroken yet forever grateful for his love, his children, Gaetano, Anna (Tony), and Josie; his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Mimi (Omar), Sara-Marie (Ryan), Samantha (Shaun), Tommy (Amanda), Katia, and Zackary; and his adored great-grandchildren, Jace, Blake, Braxton, Aura, Isabella, Tory Michele, and Luna. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Anna and Lilla (Valentino), along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.
Nothing brought Michele more joy than the sight of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even on days when age or illness weighed heavily on him, their arrival would instantly brighten his eyes and bring a smile to his face. They filled his heart with pride, purpose, and immeasurable happiness. Every visit, every hug, every conversation, and every shared moment was a gift he treasured deeply.
Michele was blessed with 94 extraordinary years, filled with love, family, friendships, and countless cherished memories. His legacy is one of kindness, generosity, humility, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, valued, and at home. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we say goodbye, our hearts ache with the loss of a man who meant so much to so many. Yet we find comfort in knowing that he lived a full and beautiful life, rich in love and surrounded by family until the very end. Though we will miss him beyond words, we take solace in knowing that he is once again reunited with Serafina, the love of his life.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed. His memory will live on in our hearts, our stories, and in the countless lives he touched. ❤️
