It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Milton DePass on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in his 89th year. Patrick was the gentle and loving father of Denise and Michelle (Keith). He leaves behind his two beloved granddaughters, Leanna (Luca) and Krista (Andrew), and his devoted companion Pauline Wingrad and her daughter Tyice. Patrick was predeceased by his sister Barbara, his brother Raphael Jr, and parents Amy & Raphael Sr. Patrick also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and cousins across the US and Jamaica.
Born in Jamaica, Patrick’s early years included attending Mandeville elementary school and Manchester high school. His initial employment as a movie theater usher eventually led to a promotion to theater manager through consistent hard work and dedication. During this period, he secured a full-time position in the accounting department at Alcan Jamaica Ltd. In 1962, he married Audrey Roache. In 1966, they immigrated to Montreal, Quebec, with their baby Denise and devoted nursemaid Odette Henry (“Nursie”). Baby Michelle soon arrived to complete their little family. Patrick dedicated himself to building a better future, working diligently to support his family in a new country. He later worked for the government as an accountant at Teleglobe Canada for 25 years. Pointe-Claire became his forever home where he contributed steadily and helped foster a sense of stability and growth for himself and his family. Patrick stepped away from Teleglobe in 1991, and ever since, he embraced the beauty of retirement. For all these years, he enjoyed a love for world events, the thrill of hockey games, crossword puzzles, reggae music, and the endless joy of immersing himself in every page of The Gazette. His days were filled with heartfelt conversations with friends & family, laughter, and the simple pleasures that made life so meaningful. In 2023, Patrick found a new chapter at The Cambridge residence, where he spent his final days surrounded by the warmth of cherished memories and the love of those who treasured him.
