<div itemprop="description">Paul Emile Morneault died peacefully on December 9, 2018 at the age of 91. He is predeceased by his wife Martha with whom he shared 55 years. <br> <br>He is survived by his 4 children, Paul & (Celeste), Mike & (Debbie), Cindy & (Raimo) and Pam & (Pete) as well as his grandchildren Philip & (Pam), Danielle & (John), Steven, Ashley, Brandon & (Klaudia), Mikayla and Elizabeth & (Quintin) and 3 great grandchildren, Kiera, Jack and Isla. <br> <br>He retired from the Canadian Armed Forces as a Colonel after 35 years of dedicated service with the Communications and Electronics Branch. His career was highlighted by command of the 1st Canadian Signal Regiment, the School of Communications and Electronics, and the Supplementary Radio System. He retired as the Deputy Commander of the Canadian Forces Communications Command. After retirement he was appointed to the honorary position of Colonel Commandant of the Communications and Electronics Branch. He also pursued a second career with Radio Canada International as director of the technical department during the era of shortwave radio broadcasts. <br> <br>He will be remembered as a gallant man, a gentleman and a loving father. He was fiercely independent, brutally honest and somewhat of a perfectionist. <br>Special thanks to the staff of Golden Home Care, Reseau Selection and Manoir Beaconsfield, and to all those who helped take care of him in his final years. <br>A memorial service will take place on Friday January 4th at 11am with visitation prior at 10am. Services will be held at Rideau Funeral Home. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Military Museum in Kingston, ON or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. <br></div>
