It is with profound heartbreak that we announce the passing of Reynold Luther Miller Clarke on February 28, 2023, a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. We are left with a deep void in our lives and his memory and love will live eternally in our hearts.

Born in Barbados on June 10, 1936, he was the son of Reynold Clarke Sr. and Antoinette “Ninin” Miller Clarke and brother to Ruby, Marie (“Zetta”), Phyllis, Gloria, Robert, Reginald and Anthony, all now deceased. As well as brother to Eric (Elma), Elaine (Gerry), June, Winnifred (Sid), Greer (Mohan), John (Alisa), and little ‘brother’ Peter-Don (Rose).

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marjorie of 65 years, daughters Lisa (CJ), Donna, and Tania (Darryl), and grandchildren Jelani, Akil, Sian, and Indya, and great-granddaughter, Eden Azaya, and his siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Reynold valued his family and community and upon retirement from teaching in 1996, he continued his community service with the West Island Black Community Association (WIBCA), the Quebec Board of Black Educators (QBBE) as well as many other programs in Canada and throughout the Caribbean.

We thank Dr. Nunez, Fatima, Farra, Mina, and Alma at LaSalle Hospital Rehabilitation for their attention and care.

His unwavering love of his family, friends and community, his generosity and unyielding tenacity will never be forgotten. May he rest in power as he lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the McGill University Health Center Foundation or the Jewish General Hospital would be appreciated.

Family will receive condolences on Saturday March 18, 2023 from 4:30PM to 9:00PM and March 19, 2023 from 12:30PM to 2:00PM, following which will be a Celebration of Life from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, DDO, Qc.

For those who cannot attend in person, it will be possible to watch the service online at: https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/70386
