<div itemprop="description">Richard Joseph Potvin, aged 75 passed away suddenly on Wednesday October<br>31st 2018 at Sacré Coeur Hospital in Montreal. Richard was born in Montreal<br>on December 21st 1942 to the late Georges Potvin and the late Elianne Perron.<br>He was raised in Montreal, educated at both McGill and Concordia and chose to<br>spend most of his work life in his beloved home town of Montreal. He is survived<br>by Joanne Belsito, his cherished wife of thirty-five years, his sisters Nicole,<br>Danielle (Luc Parent), his mother-in-law Palmira Belsito, his sisters-in-law Rose<br>Belsito and Lillian Pavlik (Steve). He also leaves behind his nephews Benoit,<br>Georges-Etienne and Jean-Phillipe Parent, Brent Seymour, six grand nieces<br>and nephews as well as numerous Potvin and Perron cousins. He will be deeply<br>missed by his nephew and godson Andrew Pavlik to whom he instilled his love of<br>all things trains. His absence will be felt by the close-knit group of great friends<br>with whom he shared many wonderful meals, glasses of wine and morning<br>coffees at McDonalds.<br>Richard was an avid train aficionado, and could frequently be found at railway<br>crossings waiting for the trains to pass to take photographs or chasing the trains<br>to the rail yard or station. He had a great sense of humour, always had a smile on<br>his face and touched everyone he met in a positive way.<br>Thank-you to the Emergency Medical Team in Kirkland and to the staff at Sacré<br>Coeur Hospital for their assistance. Special heartfelt thanks to Mike Argento and<br>Cynthia Canova for their love and unwavering support throughout this difficult<br>time.<br>Family, friends and everyone whose lives Richard touched are invited to a<br>visitation at the Rideau Funeral Home , 4275 Boulevard Des Sources, Dollarddes-<br>Ormeaux, Qc on Saturday December 1st between 11:00 and 2:00 p.m.<br>Interment at Cote de Neiges cemetery will take place at a later date.<br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Association of<br>Canada.</div>
