Stefan’s heart of gold will live on forever.
At the young age of 55 surrounded by his loving wife and soulmate Nadia (Cesari), his loving son Kyle and cherished sister Christina (Cash), Stefan passed away on Friday, May 21st, 2021. Stefan was the ever-caring son of Mrs. Lieselotte Luise Laufer and Mr. Horst Hagen (Jutta). He also leaves behind his dear step-children Jeremy & Brittni (Martin), his wonderful Cesari family-in-law, his beautiful large Canadian and German Hagen family, his many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, as well as many close relatives, amazing neighbors, great friends & co-workers.

Stefan was born in Montreal on February 20th, 1966, and grew up in DDO. Joining the Nature Pet Center family business 35 years ago, generously supported by his father Horst, he quickly put his creative talent and people skills to use eventually becoming the President alongside his sister Christine. Only after his family, friends and the office did he find time for his passions of hockey, cars and motor bikes. Through his passion and fatherly dedication, his young son Kyle has followed in his footsteps, now a midget AAA goalie on the cusp of joining a major junior team at the young age of 16. Kyle will always be his pride and joy and Stef will watch his son’s hopes and dreams soar from up above.

If there is a lesson we take away from this beautiful soul, is how to be an amazing loyal husband and friend who cherished his relationship, a brother who shared an unbreakable bond with his sister, a dedicated proud father, and a son who loved dearly. No matter what battles he faced, his smile and humor could light up the room and his positive attitude will radiate forever through the people who loved him. Everything Stefan touched he made more beautiful. He lived life to the max with no limits. Stefan will be missed by so many that were fortune enough to truly know him.

The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital Oncology Department, Dr. V. Mandilaras, Elisa, Sabrina, Dr. Iancu, a sincere thank you. To our Angel, nurse, and lifelong friend Josie El-Kahi, who supported us above and beyond. There are no words that can express the gratitude we have and truly appreciate all the support effort and love that was given to Stefan. Dr. Ferrario at the JGH, thank you.

In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to the Oncology department at the Lakeshore General Hospital. For any donations graciously made please indicate in honor/memory of Stefan Rolf Hagen.
https://fondationlakeshore.ca/donate/donations/

Due to the current restrictions in place, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
