<div itemprop="description">”I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.” - 2 Timothy 4:7 <br> <br>On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Alvaro Calindas Lopez Jr., loving husband and father of five children, passed from this life into eternal life at the age of 82 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. <br> <br>Alvaro Calindas Lopez Jr. was born in Candon City, Ilocos Sur to Atty. Alvaro Lopez Sr. and Cresencia Calindas Lopez on December 31, 1937. He received his law degree from Manuel L. Quezon University in Manila. May 6th, 1960 was the monumental day that Mr. Alvaro Calindas Lopez and Mrs. Lolita Salvador Lopez got married. 60 years of devotion and inspiring stories. He loved farming, boxing, caring for his roosters, and had a passion for public service. <br> <br>Mr. Lopez entered politics by being in office as Councilor and Vice mayor for 16 years in the city of Candon, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Brave, outspoken and never afraid to be heard were just some of the characteristics to describe Mr. Lopez. He was a lauded public speaker whose voice spoke for the people and contributed to the development of the city. Mr. Lopez lived a long and happy life and was a blessing not only to his family, but also to the community. He instilled strong values and integrity to his children, grandchildren, and great grandson. Papang is dearly missed and forever in our hearts. <br> <br>A devoted father to: <br> <br>Fernando and Gemma Lopez <br>Maribeth and Lorenzo Casem <br>Carmelita and Dave Miles <br>Rodalin and Jimmy Sullivan <br>Helly Hedieliza and Fredo Andino <br> <br> <br>A good brother to: <br> <br>Dr. Estrella Lopez + <br>Domingo and Erlinda <br>Paz and Benjamin <br>Remedios and Osias <br>Salvacion and Leo <br> <br>Papang was a generous and caring person to his grandchildren Cris Paul, Bri, Casey-Lyn, Anne Margaret, Cloey, Fernando Jr., Alvaro James, Shaina-Lyn, Franz Lorenz, Lolita May, Kerwin, Angelo, Dennis, Shanelle, George, Hannah and to his great grandchild Noah. <br> <br>We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre for their outstanding care to our father during his stay in the institution especially to 6th floor, Cohort #2 gym and 2nd floor staff. <br> <br>Please pray for the repose of the soul of our father, and keep our family in your prayers during this time of great loss. May God grant us hope and strength in the days ahead. <br> <br>A viewing will be held at Rideau Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 4239 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec H9B 2A6, Canada, on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the immediate family, followed by a ceremony in the graveside - Last Supper at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Due to the current situation, guests are allowed to attend but are advised to stay inside their cars for the whole ceremony. <br> <br></div>
