<div itemprop="description">Cynthia Mary Phillips was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica on January 25, 1927 to Joshua Bailey Phillips and Aida Phillips neé Jackson. <br> <br>At age twenty-five she moved to England where she took her nurses training at Oxford Hospital in Middlesex School of Nursing. <br>Following her graduation she began working in her chosen career. <br> <br>Several years later the Canadian Federal Government recruited and sponsored nurses to work in Canada and fill a much needed void. <br>In Montreal she was working at the Veterans ward in the Queen Mary Hospital on Cote des Neiges. She also worked at the Montreal General Hospital. <br>For a time she was also actively working as a public health nurse and later as a nursing instructor. <br> <br>Cynthia retired in 1987 at age sixty but still took the odd nursing job. <br>For the last five years of her life she lived with her niece Yvonne, who took good care of her. <br> <br>She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life; her brother Ken Phillips in Jamaica, nieces and nephews as well as friends. <br> <br>Blessed be her memory. <br> <br></div>
