<div itemprop="description">C'est avec grand tristesse que nous marquons le décès soudain de François Gilbert, à Pierrefonds, le 25 mai 2020, à 93 ans.<br><br>François est né à La Tuque le 21 avril, 1927, de Léoze Berman et Henri Gilbert. Il avait 5 frères et sœurs. <br>Il a gradué en Génie chimique, de l'Université Laval, en 1951. <br><br>En 1952, il a étudié à l’École de papeterie de l’Université de Grenoble (France). Il était membre l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.<br>François s'est marié en 1954 à Louise O'Hurley (1929-2011), à La Tuque. Ensemble ils ont élevé trois enfant, Daniel Gilbert, Marie-Claude Gilbert (Carl Allison) et Jean-François Gilbert (Melanie Schaffer). <br><br>Ils avaient cinq petits-enfants, Frédéric Allison, Francis Allison (décédé), Gabriel Gilbert, Emilie Allison et Maxime Gilbert. François avait aussi deux arrière-petits-enfants, Elliot Gilbert, et Adalie Gilbert. Ils ont vécu à plusieurs endroits, mais au cours des 50 dernières années ils demeuraient à Dollard des Ormeaux.<br><br>Il a œuvré dans l’industrie des pâtes et papiers. <br>Pendant plus de 27 ans, il a travaillé dans la production et la gestion de diverses usines de papier. Ensuite, il a ouvert sa propre compagnie de recherche de cadres, qu'il a opéré jusqu'à sa retraite en 1995.<br><br>François était un adepte de ski alpin, un sport qu'il a pratiqué pendant presque 65 ans. L'été, il aimait les sports nautiques, et il parcourait plusieurs centaines de kilomètres à vélo, sur les sentiers de la grande région de Montréal.<br><br>Compte tenu la situation, aucun service ne sera tenu. Un hommage à sa vie sera tenu à un moment plus opportun. <br><br><br>...<br><br><br>It is with great sadness that we mark the sudden passing of François Gilbert, on May 25th, 2020, in Pierrefonds, at age 93.<br><br>François was born on April 21, 1927, in La Tuque, to Léoze Berman and Henri Gilbert. He had five brothers and sisters. <br><br>He received a Chemical Engineering degree, from Université Laval, in 1951. In 1952, he studied at l’École de papeterie in Grenoble (France). He was a long-time member of L'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.<br><br>In 1954, François was married to Louise O'Hurley (1929-2011), at La Tuque. Together, they raised three children, Daniel Gilbert, Marie-Claude Gilbert (Carl Allison), and Jean-François Gilbert (Melanie Schaffer). <br><br>They had five grandchildren, Frédéric Allison, Francis Allison (deceased), Gabriel Gilbert, Émilie Allison, and Maxime Gilbert. François also had two greatgrandchildren, Elliot Gilbert and Adalie Gilbert. They lived in many locations but made their home in Dollard des Ormeaux for the last 50 years.<br><br>François worked in the pulp and paper industry. For more than 27 years, he worked in production and management in various paper mills. Subsequently, he opened his own executive search company, which he operated until his retirement in 1995.<br><br>François was an avid downhill skier, a sport he practiced for almost 65 years. In the summer, he loved boating, and he cycled hundreds of kilometers on the various paths of greater Montreal.<br><br>Considering the current situation, no service will be held. A memorial may be planned under more favourable conditions.<br></div>
