It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn Clifford Darbyson on May 30th, 2024 at Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland, Quebec after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

He will be sorely missed by his wife, Rose (nee Palmer) and his children Emily (Marc Rawji), Alicia, and Brent (Kathy Jollimore), as well as Rose’s children Kevin Glass (Vanessa Vanzella), Steven Glass (Erika Christensen) and Lauren Glass (Devon O`Neill).

He was the adored Grampa of Devin, Kevin, Michael, Mattias, Sophie, Lincoln and Silas, as well as Grampy-Glenn to Veronica, Emilia, Hayden, Riley, Austin, Sophie and Cooper. He will also be sadly missed by his brother Roger Darbyson (June), as well as many other family and friends.

Glenn grew up in Ville Émard and as he put it “spent his early life with his best friend, cousin and seemingly brother, Robert Gordon”. He attended Loyola University in Montreal and spent his career working for RBC, in business banking. He was an avid skier, loved to golf, try new foods, travel, and sit on the beach. In his later years he enjoyed going for drives with his beloved Rose in the Mustang. Glenn was many things but first and foremost he was a family man. Family was what he loved most, he always looked forward to large family gatherings. He relished spending time with his grand kids as they were his heart and what kept him going in the last years of his life. It is his legacy of love and caring for his family that will live on in all of us.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday June 11th from 6 pm - 8pm and on Wednesday June 12th from 10am - 11am at Rideau Memorial Gardens, 4239 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec H9B 2A6. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Wednesday June 12th, with a reception to follow at noon, also at the Rideau Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, where he received the most wonderful care during his time there. We will be forever grateful to the staff of Teresa Dellar for making his last month so peaceful.
